Extension with Denis Zakaria apparently possible again

Denis Zakaria doesn’t seem to be averse to a contract extension in Gladbach.

In the case of Denis Zakaria, a long-term stay at Borussia Mönchengladbach no longer seems to be ruled out. The reason for this could be a change of advisor.

Zakaria (24) actually wanted to leave Borussia this summer. AS Roma, Atalanta Bergamo or Sevilla FC were said to be of the greatest interest. But loud image the offers sent to Gladbach were all too low.

The newspaper reports that less than 15 million euros were offered for the Swiss. Borussia, however, would have liked to have raised around 40 million euros for the midfield player.

But now things have turned around, as Zakaria has changed the advisor, how Sport1 and image reported. The Lian Sports Group, which also represents Leroy Sane, is out. Zakaria’s family is said to have stepped in for this.

image now speculates that this could make Zakaria’s contract extension possible again. On the one hand, the fitness level of the player after the cartilage damage in the knee is said to be too uncertain for those interested, on the other hand there is a kind of father-son relationship with trainer Adi Hütter, who already trained Zakaria with the Young Boys in Bern.

At Borussia, however, they are apparently not willing to keep Zakaria in the final year of the contract without an extension. “With players in his category, we don’t want to simply let contracts expire,” manager Max Eberl recently announced.
