Maria KeaneBundesliga club SpVgg Greuther Fürth cannot fully exploit the capacity utilization of stadiums at major events, which has been formally increased to 50 percent in Bavaria. According to the promoted team, the next home game on September 11th (Saturday / 3:30 p.m.) against VfL Wolfsburg will only be able to occupy 6700 seats, which is still less than half of the 16,600 spectators’ capacity.
The reason given by the shamrock was the unchanged standing ban. For the season home premiere last Saturday against Arminia Bielefeld (1: 1) 5890 spectators were allowed in Fürth.
“50 percent sound better on paper than it really is. With the standing ban, which is still in force, this number will not be able to be achieved while maintaining distances. It is extremely unfortunate that we in Bavaria continue to compare this to the others We will continue to work to ensure that uniform national rules also apply to a national league, “said Fürth’s managing director Holger Schwiewagner, commenting on the effects of the infection control measures ordinance that came into force on Monday in his state on gaming operations in Franconia.
