Haaland can't get 90 minutes, Bellingham probably back

Borussia Dortmund has more personnel options again just in time for the top game in the Bundesliga against Bayern Munich on Saturday. “More players in the squad mean a different kind of competition, we can almost draw on the full on Saturday,” reported coach Marco Rose on Friday.

From the substitutes’ bench, he could “shoot up some quality in the course of the game. I’ll even have to disappoint players.”

Exceptional striker Erling Haaland, who made a goal comeback as Joker in the game at VfL Wolfsburg (3-1), will probably start for the first time after his hip flexor injury – “but it will most likely not be enough for 90 minutes,” said Rose. Haaland had “a good week of training behind them”.

However, this does not apply to a very important central defender. “Manuel Akanji has trained little or not at all, which may be a precision landing,” said Rose: “With Jude Bellingham, on the other hand, we are very hopeful.” The England international is back in full training.

Rose has decided to make his team really hot. “We have Bayern here in a direct duel, we want to hurt them and score goals,” said the coach. BVB lost the last league duel in March in Munich 2: 4, as did the Supercup in August (1: 3).

The coach joked about an alleged training dispute between Thomas Meunier and Raphael Guerreiro: “I had the impression that they were talking about the Christmas holiday on the 18th and weren’t quite agreed where to go. The mood in the dressing room was good. Everything was fine Order.”
