Maria KeaneRB Leipzig coach Jesse Marsch wants to put his own stamp on the team. “My players have learned a lot from Julian Nagelsmann, playing possession,” Marsch told dem Editorial network Germany.
“We don’t take these things out, but we want to play more vertically and faster with more pressing and counter-pressing forward. We want a mix of possession and hunting,” he said.
The native American had been “diligent” in learning the language before he took office, reported Marsch. “Learning German well was like an obsession for me”. He dreams “sometimes of football and speaks in his sleep, says my wife. And German. That is outstanding”.
