Hütter has "more options" again

Borussia Mönchengladbach’s coach Adi Hütter can plan his guest appearance at Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday (6.30 p.m.) with Denis Zakaria, who is willing to emigrate. The Swiss national player is available again after suffering from COVID-19.

Zakaria’s contract expires in summer 2022. If Gladbach wants to collect a transfer fee for the midfielder, then he would have to leave the club now.

Opponents Leverkusen consider Hütter to be a “strong and fast team”. Just like at the start of the season against Bayern Munich (1: 1), Hütter wants to “appear compact” again. But you also have to “play bravely forward”. Leverkusen is “the next big chunk that is waiting for us and the next important location for us”.

Breel Embolo (muscle tendon injury) and Manu Kone (knee injury) will still be out. Some national players and recently injured professionals have made up for their deficit. “You are now on a different level. This gives us more options,” said Hütter. Gradually, the Austrian wants to get closer to “perfect football” with the five-time German champions: “But that’s a long process and it will take a while before we can do everything to perfection.”

Bayern’s victory in the Supercup at Borussia Dortmund (3: 1) had “upgraded” the point win against the German record champions for Hütter.
