Maria KeaneAccording to information from SPOX and GOAL have informed BVB that they are interested in signing central defender Niklas Süle. Dortmund’s license player manager Sebastian Kehl has now taken a position on this. The 41-year-old also gives an update on Erling Haaland’s injury.
“So if I now evaluate and comment on all the rumors that have been circulating about Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks, we would be here a little longer,” said Kehl in a BVB media round.
In general, a lot is possible on the transfer market. “Over the past week, I think another centre-back has been under discussion.” But it is “right that there are one or the other interesting player free transfer this summer and next,” said the Dortmund license player manager.
Süle will leave Bayern Munich after his contract expires in the summer. In addition to BVB, some Premier League clubs are also considered possible targets for the 26-year-old. Newcastle United and Chelsea FC are considered very interested. From Spain, FC Barcelona is said to be interested.
Kehl also gave an update on striker Erling Haaland’s injury. He does not want to rule out an appearance in the top game against Bayern Leverkusen (Sun., from 3.30 p.m. in LIVETICKER). “He still has muscular problems, nothing has changed about that. But as he recently said himself, he will be back soon and of course we hope so too. He is highly motivated and wants to come back as soon as possible,” said the designated successor by BVB sports director Michael Zorc.
