“Made another jump”

Assistant coach Alexander Zickler (47) from the Bundesliga soccer club Borussia Dortmund raves about BVB miracle striker Erling Haaland before the top match against his former club FC Bayern.

“I already met Erling in Salzburg. He was already something special and brutally ambitious back then. He lived for his passion and for success. Now he has gained a lot of personality,” Zickler told the newspaper Funke media group: “He made another jump.”

Sometimes Zickler works extra shifts with the 21-year-old Norwegian. “He is exceptionally quick and finds the right paths. But he has also noticed that less is sometimes more, and that a simple conclusion is often the better,” said the former attacker.

There are little things that he can give Haaland. “For example, when it comes to teams that are on his feet, he mustn’t let himself be taken out of his game. He has to stay calm.”
