BVB – News: Borussia Dortmund reacts to Pongracic interview

BVB reacted to the curious interview by central defender Marin Pongracic with Twitch streamer and comedian Samuel Sibilski (“SSYNIC”) and apparently sentenced the 24-year-old, who is currently on loan from VfL Wolfsburg, to a fine. That reports the image on Friday.

“Some statements are absolutely wrong in terms of content. You can be sure that we will talk to Marin about it internally,” said licensed player manager and designated BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl with regard to the Pongracic cause.

Among other things, the Croatian international had divulged the downtime of BVB striker Erling Haaland (“the next eight weeks”) and revealed details about the amount of the purchase option that BVB has for him. According to Pongracic, this is nine million euros.

Shortly before the end of the summer transfer period, Pongracic switched from Wolfsburg to Dortmund on loan. In the Autostadt he was left behind against the big competition in central defense and was only center-back number four after Sebastian Bornauw’s move from Cologne to the Wolves.

This is one of the reasons why the native Landshut and former Bayern youth player made an all-round blow against VfL. Those responsible had “started to fax”, the then coach Mark van Bommel wanted to “grab” the best because Pongracic was temporarily not even allowed to participate in the training game eleven-on-eleven.

Also from Wolfsburg, where Pongracic has a contract until 2024, the defensive player now faces consequences. “Certain things need to be addressed internally and at the right time,” said sports director Marcel Schäfer. “I consider this point in time to be extremely questionable. We will discuss it calmly internally. Then we will take the necessary steps if necessary.”

BVB, News: Dortmund is considering opposition to Hummels-Rot

BVB is considering an appeal against Mats Hummels’ red card, which he received in the CL duel against Ajax Amsterdam on Wednesday evening. “That was a more than obvious and clearly verifiable wrong decision. It ruined our game and decided the game,” said sporting director Michael Zorc on Thursday. He announced “contact with UEFA”.

Hummels was sent off on Wednesday in the 29th minute for a supposedly gross foul on Ajax professional Antony. Referee Michael Oliver consulted with the VAR, but did not look at the pictures himself. He stuck to his decision.

UEFA “promotes respect, but that has nothing to do with respect,” said Zorc. “Oliver is ten meters from the screen, he has to look at it. Mats Hummels straddles 40 centimeters past Antony, who even gets on his foot.” BVB is currently examining the incident with its legal advisor.

BVB, News: Marius Wolf is out for the time being

In its already extremely tense personnel situation, BVB will have to complain about the next failure. Left-back Marius Wolf will be injured in Dortmund for the time being. The 26-year-old suffered a muscle injury in his right thigh in the CL match against Ajax Amsterdam on Wednesday.

According to the association’s announcement on Thursday on Twitter, “the return of the 26-year-old is planned for November”. Coach Marco Rose is missing at least on Saturday in the league game at RB Leipzig (from 6.30 p.m. in the live ticker) the third line-up on the left side of the defense. Raphael Guerreiro and Nico Schulz (both torn muscle fibers) are also not ready for action.
