Maria KeaneNational player Matthias Ginter will probably stay with Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach. He “firmly believes” that he will still be on the pitch for the Rhinelander in the second round of the DFB Cup at the end of October, said the 27-year-old in the ARD.
The central defender’s contract with the foals expires in 2022. Since the talks about an extension were recently delayed, the rumors of change increased.
“I think Max Eberl explained quite well why an offer for an extension has not yet been received,” said Ginter: “We have Corona, it is difficult times for all clubs. We will see accordingly.” Eberl recently signaled an interest in keeping the defense chief. “It remains to be seen whether it will work,” said the sports director.
The new coach Adi Hütter believes in Ginter’s whereabouts. “This possibility is definitely there,” said the Austrian: “Of course I would be happy if Matze stayed.”
