Maria KeaneSports director Max Eberl from Borussia Mönchengladbach has no understanding of the financial conduct of clubs like PSG or Chelsea in times of Corona.
When asked about high-value transfers from clubs like PSG, Manchester City or Chelsea, Eberl agreed on Friday DAZN: “They don’t give a shit about Corona.”
However, Eberl emphasized that that alone does not make football sick. Rather, the system that allows donors to put money into individual clubs is “sick”.
As for Borussia, Eberl is “very satisfied” with the current squad. Speculations about possible departures would not have worried him. “The market is not that easy and Gladbach is a great club,” said Eberl.
As far as a possible extension with national defender Matthias Ginter is concerned, patience is required, as one has to be “very careful” with the club’s finances in the current situation.
“We do that, we explained that to Matze,” said Eberl. The sports director had previously announced that Ginter, whose contract expires next summer, could not make an adequate offer at the moment.
