FCB, News: Hainer criticizes alleged UEFA plans
According to a report in the English newspaper The Times UEFA is planning to abolish financial fair play and instead wants to introduce an upper salary limit, which will be punished with a luxury tax for non-compliance. In an interview with the kicker FC Bayern President Herbert Hainer criticized the alleged plans. The 67-year-old, on the other hand, spoke out in favor of even harsher penalties against financial offenders in football.
“I’m not at all convinced of this luxury tax. In the event of violations, a club pays 100 million euros in luxury tax, which is shared among the other clubs,” criticized Hainer. “This money does not help them decisively and does not really hurt the money giants.”
The UEFA plan apparently stipulates that from 2022 (for three years) the clubs will only be allowed to spend a fixed proportion of their income on player salaries. There is 70 percent in the room, as is currently already practiced in the Spanish league.
If the upper salary limit is exceeded, the so-called luxury tax should be paid to UEFA. For Hainer, this does not go far enough. “We need valid regulations with clear consequences for fair competition,” demanded the FCB boss. “Tender attempts at sanctions have too often been revised or toned down in the past. It doesn’t work that way.”
FCB, News: Zirkzee shoots Anderlecht to victory with a double pack
Joshua Zirkzee led RSC Anderlecht to a 3-1 win against Cercle Bruges with a double. The loan from FC Bayern scored in the 13th and 29th minute after Anderlecht went behind early (1st).
For Anderlecht it was the second victory in a row in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. Last weekend, coach Vincent Kompany’s team won 3-0 against RFC Seraing after scoring just one point from the first two games of the season.
For Zirkzee it was the second starting eleven in the dress of the Belgians. The 20-year-old Dutchman is on loan from FCB to the violet-whites until the end of the season.
The striker should gather match practice at Anderlecht. The previous loan to AC Parma last season was not very successful. Injuries mostly put Zirkzee out of action. In addition, he rose with the club from Serie A at the end.
