Record licensing results for stickers and trading cards

Maria KeaneFrom the 2023/24 season, the clubs in the Bundesliga and the 2nd division can expect record income from the exploitation of global license rights for stickers and trading cards, including the so-called Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).
The total proceeds from the allocation of rights carried out by the German Football League (DFL) are already more than 170 million euros – although some rights were initially not allocated or were only allocated for the two seasons 2023/24 and 2024/25.
A comparison between the past season and the first season of the upcoming rights cycle (2023/24) shows an increase in revenue of around 280 percent.
