Maria KeaneSebastien Haller suffers from testicular cancer. The histological findings revealed a malignant tumor in the striker. BVB announced this on Saturday.
Haller is now undergoing chemotherapy and will be out for months.
“Sebastien will now receive the best possible treatment. The chances of recovery are very good. We wish him and his family a lot of strength and optimism and our thoughts are with him at this difficult time,” said BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl in a statement.
BVB also asked the media and fans for their understanding and announced that they would not provide any further information on Haller’s condition via this notification.
Haller had just switched from Ajax Amsterdam to Borussia a few weeks ago and was supposed to help replace Erling Haaland, who had moved to Manchester.
When Haller can do this is therefore open.
