Striker Sasa Kalajdzic is apparently out for a long time

The Austrian international Sasa Kalajdzic will probably miss VfB Stuttgart for a long time. Again kicker reported on Sunday that the 24-year-old striker will be out for “at least two months” due to a shoulder dislocation. Kalajdzic injured his shoulder in a header duel with Nordi Mukiele in the 4-0 draw at RB Leipzig on Friday.

Kalajdzic, the Swabians’ best Bundesliga scorer with 16 goals in the preseason, recently missed parts of the preparation due to a corona infection.

Now the Stuttgart are looking for a replacement. “Perhaps the market will provide an opportunity that would fit into our budget,” said VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat the kicker: “Everything has to be right.”

Whether or not Kalajdzic has to be operated on has not yet been conclusively clarified. A week ago, storm talent Mohamed Sankoh suffered a serious knee injury in a 5-1 win against newly promoted SpVgg Greuther Fürth, and the 17-year-old is out for several months.
