FC Bayern, News: Kimmich before returning on Thursday

Bayern star Joshua Kimmich is expected to return to FC Bayern Munich team training on Thursday after his corona infection. That reports the kicker. The two-week quarantine ends on Wednesday, then the national player can test himself free using a PCR test.

So Kimmich would miss the Champions League hit against FC Barcelona on Wednesday (9 p.m. in LIVETICKER), but would return to the matchday squad against FSV Mainz 05 on the weekend.

It remains to be seen whether Kimmich will be fit again by then. His teammates Gnabry and Süle also needed some start-up time after their infection – a place on the bench is therefore most likely for Kimmich.

In addition, Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting should return from his quarantine on Wednesday and offer coach Julian Nagelsmann another rotation option. The ailing Leon Goretzka could also get a break in the last group game, which is insignificant for Bayern.

FC Bayern, News – Bayern icon about Sabitzer: “Even Götze couldn’t prevail”

Bayern icon Mario Basler focused primarily on Marcel Sabitzer after the top Bundesliga match against Borussia Dortmund. “Marcel Sabitzer was not in the top game, the Austrian was not injured. Annoying, because he missed the chance in the absence of Joshua Kimmich to recommend himself for higher tasks with Julian Nagelsmann,” wrote Basler in his Sport1-Column.

The ex-Leipzig player may have imagined his start differently, writes the ex-national player, but took Sabitzer a little under protection: “Many players have already tried at Bayern. Lukas Podolski and Mario Götze could not prevail either.”

It is questionable whether the Bayern management team will be patient with their poor performance so far, since the leap in quality from Leipzig to Munich is yet another: “I don’t think Bayern will watch Sabitzer for long.”

FC Bayern News: Karl-Heinz Rummenigge reveals former scouting list

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that FC Bayern has been interested in Julian Brandt from Borussia Dortmund in the past. “Basically we scouted him once too. He was part of the U17 national team,” said the 66-year-old at Picture TV.

Brandt was not the only player on the Munich scouting list. The record champions also watched today’s FCB star Joshua Kimmich and another surprising candidate, as Rummenigge revealed: “In addition to Brandt, Kimmich and Selke were interesting.”

While Brandt moved from the youth of VfL Wolfsburg to Bayer Leverkusen and then to Dortmund, today’s Herthan Davie Selke moved from TSG Hoffenheim’s U17 to Werder Bremen. With Kimmich, however, from Rummenigge’s point of view, Bayern backed the right horse: “Fortunately, our scout Michael Reschke concentrated on Kimmich.”
