VfL Bochum sign Sebastian Polter

Maria KeaneVfL Bochum has signed striker Sebastian Polter. The 30-year-old is transferring from the Dutch first division club Fortuna Sittard to the promoted team and will sign a contract there until 2023. The Bochum team announced on Friday.
For Sittard, Polter scored nine goals in 32 games last season, before that he played for Bochum’s league rivals Union Berlin.
With the Köpenickers he was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2019. He had also played first division games for VfL Wolfsburg, 1.FC Nürnberg and Mainz 05.
“Sebastian Polter brings a new component to our game because of his stature and athleticism. He is physically strong and knows how to use his body accordingly,” said VfL Sport Director Sebastian Schindzielorz.
Polter himself is “proud that I am allowed to play for such a club – and that in Germany’s highest league”, he is quoted in the club announcement.
