Watzke announces Haaland negotiations and comments on Adeyemi rumors

Borussia Dortmund’s CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has spoken about the future of Erling Haaland. Before the Champions League duel with Besiktas, Watzke confirmed that they wanted to sit down with the Norwegian in the coming weeks.

“I think we will speak in the next few weeks,” announced Watzke Amazon Prime , but also emphasized a certain dependency on Haaland’s willingness to negotiate: “We are not alone in that, so we always depend on signals coming from him and his advisor.”

Watzke thus confirmed media reports that the Norwegian could draw an exit clause in his contract. It should be around 75 million euros. Therefore, in the Haaland case, Dortmund has no pressure to extend the contract, stressed Watzke. It’s all about: “If he then draws a clause or does he not draw it. In this respect, we will all try not to find out until March or April.”

A possible successor for Haaland is already being traded in Dortmund: Karim Adeyemi could inherit him if he leaves the Dortmund storm center. Watzke did not want to comment on the rumors about the young Salzburg striker on Tuesday evening: “There are 18 Bundesliga clubs. Why us?” The BVB boss also said tellingly: “If he cancels more and more people, our chances may increase.”

Zwayers Bellingham offer: “It doesn’t work that way”

In the dispute over Jude Bellingham’s sharp criticism of referee Felix Zwayer’s performance in the top game last Saturday, Watzke meanwhile ruled out a peace summit.

“If Mr. Zwayer sends me or Michael Zorc a letter and stimulates a conversation, you can discuss it,” said Watzke and questioned Zwayer’s approach: “But if I read the same thing in the media an hour later, then I have to To be honest, I don’t need to talk to anyone. It doesn’t work that way. ” Zwayer had previously publicly offered Bellingham a personal interview.
