Maria KeaneBundesliga leaders VfL Wolfsburg have further upgraded their squad for the upcoming Champions League games. Striker Dodi Lukebakio is switching from league rivals Hertha BSC to Lower Saxony on loan until the end of the season.
The Belgian international, who was transferred from Watford to Hertha in 2019 for what was then the club’s record sum of 20 million euros, had conceded the only goal to date for the front runner in his 2-1 win at the Berlin Olympic Stadium.
“VfL Wolfsburg impressed me with their team spirit last season and last time they played at Hertha. Of course, it is an absolute dream for me to be able to play with VfL in the Champions League,” said Lukebakio.
The 24-year-old is under contract with the bottom of the Bundesliga until 2024. In the offensive department of the North Germans, the attacker replaces Omar Marmoush, who was loaned from VfL to VfB Stuttgart.
