Ajax coach Erik ten Hag was apparently hot

Ajax coach Erik ten Hag is apparently a hot candidate to succeed interim coach Ralf Rangnick at Manchester United. That reports the Daily Mirror. The 51-year-old has already been associated with numerous top European teams in the past.

Ten Hag is said to have made an impression on the United bosses primarily through his work with talent. After promoting Mathijs de Ligt, Frenkie de Jong and Donny van de Beek and developing them into top players in recent years, Ryan Gravenberch is currently flourishing under him.

At the same time, he is valued for instilling confidence in weak players like Sebastien Haller. After Haller moved from Eintracht Frankfurt to West Ham United for 50 million euros in 2019, he was unable to build on his performance at the SGE. In the summer he moved to Ajax for just under half and now hits again at will. With ten goals, he set Cristiano Ronaldo’s record in the Champions League preliminary round. After 27 games this season, the Frenchman has already scored 21 goals across all competitions.

“Let me put it this way: I would like to take on this challenge, but I’m not chasing after it,” ten Hag said recently about his future plans. In the spring he was traded at FC Bayern as the successor to Hansi Flick Picture TV however, he denied negotiations in October.

“That’s not true. We never talked about it, but of course I’m proud that my name was mentioned there. Bavaria is the greatest thing you can achieve, but I can only dream about it. I’m with a great club, I live here and want to be successful here. ” From 2013 to 2015 he had trained the Bayern reserve, after separating from Niko Kovac in 2019, he was one of the candidates. He has been Ajax’s head coach since December 2017 and his contract runs until 2023.
