Maria KeaneTottenham Hotspur has found his replacement for the sacked Nuno Espirito Santo. Antonio Conte, according to information from SPOX and goal to follow the Portuguese.
According to transfer expert Fabrizo Romano, Conte will sign a contract with the Londoners on Tuesday. The coach and the club had already verbally agreed on the contractual terms.
According to Romano, Conte’s contract with Tottenham should be dated until 2023. Other media had previously reported that such a working paper would also contain a class for another year.
Tottenham’s sporting director Fabio Paratici had already considered Conte as Spurs’ new coach in June. The Italian has now apparently convinced his compatriot of a commitment at Tottenham.
Tottenham Hotspur: Conte as the ideal solution
Conte was immediately identified as the Spurs’ preferred solution after Espirito Santo was released. Initially, however, there should have been disagreements about details in the agreement between the club and the coach.
Several English media reported that Conte had demanded concessions in the transfer policy. Most recently, Daniel Levy had always been the strong man in terms of transfer at Tottenham.
There were also initially different ideas about the duration of the contract. Conte is said to have aimed for a longer contract term than the offered 18 months. These differences have now apparently been resolved.
Tottenham Hotspur: Espirito Santo sacked on Monday
The Spurs officially announced the split from Espirito Santo on Monday. Tottenham had lost three of their last four games, on Saturday the Manchester United team lost 3-0.
Tottenham is only eighth in the Premier League after ten league games. The team got just nine hits.
