Maria KeaneEnglish Premier League club Arsenal are about to make their next summer transfer. Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale (23) is from second division Sheffield United, according to information from SPOX and Goal will soon move to the Emirates Stadium.
Sheffield will receive around 35 million euros from the Gunners. Most recently, there were reports that negotiations between the clubs involved were on the verge of failure due to excessive demands.
The transfer fee now consists of pure transfer payments (approx. 28 million euros) and bonuses (approx. Seven million euros).
According to information from SPOX and Goal, the 23-year-old will sign a four-year contract with an option for a one-year extension. A full agreement and the medical check are still pending.
Signing a goalkeeper is important for Arsenal, after all, Bernd Leno is currently the only well-known goalkeeper in the London squad. With Ramsdale, the German would get at least one competitor for his regular place.
Ramsdale’s contract in Sheffield currently runs until 2024. Before that, the keeper had already played for AFC Bournemouth, AFC Wimbledon and Chesterfield.
