Maria KeaneNational player Kai Havertz has set himself ambitious goals with the English top club Chelsea FC before the start of the season. “The Champions League title is not enough for us, we want to win more and that is our goal for the season,” said Havertz before the Supercup duel on Wednesday (9:00 pm live on DAZN) against the Europa League winner FC Villarreal in Belfast.
After the disappointing EURO, Havertz, who scored the winning goal in the premier class final in May against Manchester City (1-0), wants to celebrate again. The 22-year-old is particularly looking forward to the renewed support from the fans in the stadiums. “They support you a lot. I feel very comfortable. I like it here, I like the city and I like the club, so it’s all good,” said Havertz.
Team manager Thomas Tuchel also wants to expand his trophy collection with the blues. “We want to win, we want to compete and of course we want to be successful,” said Tuchel: “That is in the nature of Chelsea and of course we are ready for the challenge.”
His team will try to fight for every title in every competition, stressed Tuchel. “It will be a big step forward if we can show the same quality, attitude and dedication as we did last season,” he said.
