Manchester United and Leeds United fans fight downtown

Maria KeaneIn the run-up to the Premier League game between Manchester United and Leeds United, there were wild beatings in downtown Manchester on Saturday. The fans of both clubs dislike each other.

Recordings appeared on social media, on which you can see fans of both clubs fighting in the city center before kick-off. A fan took a garbage can as a weapon, and chairs were often flying around.
Sirens could be heard in the background of a video. Then a policeman appeared and drove the two fan camps away.
The two clubs met on Saturday afternoon in their first league game in over 15 years, which was also attended by fans.
Leeds had returned to the top division last season, but because of Corona, no spectators were allowed in the stadium in both games against ManUnited.
