Brett PatelIn the preparation for a new beginning in the district league A for the team of coach Michael Wüsten. “We are actually very satisfied so far. We had already run eight or nine times as a team before the preparations,” he said, explaining the current state of affairs.
The squad stayed together almost completely
Wüsten, on the other hand, does not want to hang too high because of the weak placement in the preseason. The coach also assumes that his team would have recovered if the season had continued. “We also had a lot of injured players last year and a difficult program at the start,” explains the SG coach.
Now – almost eight months later – the preparations for the new season in the district league A are underway. Wüsten does not want to call himself and his team a clear favorite. “When we made the decision, we thought in perspective. We want to build a young team around the experienced team,” says Wüsten.
In terms of personnel, the squad from the district league season has largely remained together. So – despite the long break – there should still be a certain level of settling in the team. Nevertheless, Wüsten does not rule out further external newcomers. “It may well be that one or the other happens,” explains the coach. So it remains to be seen whether and how many players will join Coach Wüsten’s squad.
