Maria KeaneIn October 2020, Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland explained in a podcast which strikers he still saw ahead of him. A good year later, the BVB goalscorer’s statement appears in a different light.
“Cristiano Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski, Sergio Aguero, Roberto Firmino, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Harry Kane and Timo Werner,” Haaland replied to the Norwegian podcast last autumn Top 3.
A year later, Haaland is likely to revise this statement, especially with a view to Werner, Agüero or Firmino. The Norwegian became the top scorer of the Champions League with ten goals last season, and in August he was finally named Europe’s striker of the year.
Haaland, who is currently suffering from muscular problems and probably missed the CL duel with Sporting on Tuesday, is currently with 68 goals in 67 competitive games for BVB.
