BVB, News: Cup opponents with challenge to Dortmund

Rüdiger Rehm showed himself confident before the DFB Cup duel against Borussia Dortmund. “The chance of a win was and will never be greater than it is now,” said the head coach of SV Wehen Wiesbaden in an interview Ruhr news.

Rehm was alluding to the strained personnel situation in Dortmund. “In five to six weeks we would have had almost no chance. Now we have at least a small opportunity to trip BVB,” said the 42-year-old. “With Bundesliga clubs you can often see that some things are still missing at this point,” Rehm continued. The SVW has already played two games in the 3rd division and drew twice.

Due to injury and illness, BVB will be missing several key players in the cup. Numerous top performers are absent, especially on the defensive, including Mats Hummels, Emre Can, Raphael Guerreiro and Thomas Meunier.

Rehm and his Wiesbaden team have already had a few surprises in the cup in recent years. The SVW bowled the second division Erzgebirge Aue, 1. FC Heidenheim and FC St. Pauli out of the competition.

BVB, News: No further corona cases in PCR tests

Borussia Dortmund’s personnel situation did not worsen immediately before the cup match against SV Wehen Wiesbaden. The PCR tests carried out did not result in any further positive cases in the team on Wednesday. All tests were negative.

At the beginning of the week, Thomas Meunier and Julian Brandt had tested positive for the corona virus at BVB and Borussia will therefore be absent from the cup. Due to the negative tests, the black and yellow can now continue their preparation for the cup game as planned.

Marco Rose was optimistic despite the numerous failures. “We will put a chain on the field that can defend well,” said the BVB coach about his defense.

In Borussia Dortmund’s pre-season, Erling Haaland not only impresses with his quality on the pitch. Most recently, the Norwegian was also able to impress with his language skills.

Haaland revealed that he can now communicate well in German. This became clear, for example, in the BVB quiz taxi video, in which the goalgetter was out and about with the American Giovanni Reyna. Haaland translated several times for his teammate.
