Julian Nagelsmann wants to slow down Joshua Kimmich

Erling Haaland wanted nothing to do with a weak FC Bayern Munich after Borussia Dortmund’s opening win against Eintracht Frankfurt 5-2.

When asked by compatriot Jan Age Fjörtoft, the two-time goalscorer at Viaplay said: “Oh come on! Bayern are still one of the top teams in the world. So let’s relax. We’re trying to improve, we’ll see where on Tuesday we’re standing, “said Haaland.

Then both clubs will meet in the Supercup (8.30 p.m. in the live ticker). The Dortmunders are hoping for a similar boost from the fans as they did against the SGE.

“Today it was easy to be motivated. I got goose bumps when I went out. It was great to play in front of fans,” said the 21-year-old. “That’s motivation – and I missed it a lot.”

Bayern did not get past a 1-1 draw on the first match day at Borussia Mönchengladbach and are still waiting for their first win under new coach Julian Nagelsmann.
