“I want to be an important part of the team,” Musiala said before the Bundesliga start in an interview with Sport1. His goals: a lot of playing time, more goals, more assists. Last season, Musiala had eight scorer points (7 goals, 1 assist) in 39 games (1,458 minutes) at Bayern.

In order to improve these statistics in the coming season, Musiala wants to work on his speed of action and decision-making under pressure from the opponents. “Julian Nagelsmann’s training is ideal for this,” said the international.

The training under Nagelsmann is “very good”, “it is intense and fun”. In addition to Nagelsmann, Musiala works with a neuro-trainer to improve his “stability and quality of movement”. “I wanted to start the new season as prepared as possible. I also set up my own gym,” said Musiala.

The challenge in sport is to consistently call up performance. “It’s amazing how players like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have dominated for years and have improved every year,” said Musiala.

Jamal Musiala missed Flick’s performance at the DFB

With consistently good performances, Musiala will also play a role in the DFB team again. At the EM Musiala came to two short appearances. He played eight minutes against Hungary and one against England.

Now, with Hansi Flick, an old friend has taken over as national coach. Curious: “Unfortunately, I couldn’t see his performance at the DFB. I had my first driving lessons that day.” Musiala had his first driving lessons on Tuesday when Flick presented his plans for the DFB team: “Fortunately, my driving instructor let me start with automatic transmission. Soon I’ll have to get into a car with a manual transmission. I’m excited.”
