Maria KeaneCoach Sebastian Hoeneß from Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim sees his top striker Andrej Kramaric on a par with Erling Haaland.
“What they have in common is the outstanding goal risk. Haaland is incredibly fast, more direct, more straightforward in his style of play,” said Hoeneß before the league game at Borussia Dortmund on Friday (8.30pm live on DAZN).
Kramaric, on the other hand, could “hit from an incredible number of situations: with the right, left, head, after passes in depth, combinations, crosses – Haaland is probably not that flexible.” The stature also distinguishes “these two outstanding footballers”.
Stopping Haaland is difficult. “You have to defend it collectively, we need good protection and a good chain. The basic things have to be applied – he’s online in every phase and hot for his goals,” said Hoeneß.
The coach looks forward to the duel full of anticipation. “The excitement comes with walking into the stadium. Friday night, floodlight show – what could be nicer?” He said. TSG could perhaps learn something from SC Freiburg. The last time he did a lot in his win against BVB (2-1): “You have to put pressure on, defend passionately, stay cool, and that includes a little bit of luck.”
