That’s why Ralf Rangnick is not in the coaching bench today

Ralf Rangnick is not quite right in the middle of it at Manchester United.

Ralf Rangnick is the new coach of Manchester United until the end of the season. In the top game against Arsenal on Thursday evening, however, he will not be in the coaching bench. SPOX explains why.

Interim coach follows interim coach: After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s dismissal, Michael Carrick temporarily took over at Manchester United before Ralf Rangnick was hired by the Red Devils as coach for the rest of the season.

Accordingly, the 63-year-old German is not initially intended as a permanent solution. As a result of his coaching activity, he should at least serve United for two more seasons in an advisory capacity.

Rangnick’s signing was officially confirmed by the Premier League club on Monday. However: His debut on the sidelines will have to wait a while.

Today, Thursday, December 2nd, Manchester United host Arsenal for their 14th Premier League matchday at Old Trafford. The kick-off is there at 9:15 p.m. (in the LIVETICKER).

Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. will be looked after by assistant coach Carrick, as they were last in the 2-0 away win in the Champions League against Villarreal and in the 1-1 draw in the league at Chelsea.

The reason for this is that Rangnick has not yet had a work permit in England. After the UK leaves the European Union, every worker who comes to the island must first apply. This editing process is ongoing.

So the bureaucracy throws the 63-year-old through the bill. Rangnick should still be in the stadium and watch the 90 minutes from the stands.

The next opportunity to make his debut at ManUnited would be on Sunday, when the next home game against Crystal Palace starts at 3 p.m.

Again, only three days later, on December 8th, the English record champions will compete for the third time in a row at home. Then the Young Boys from Bern come to the end of the Champions League group stage at Old Trafford. Rangnick has a good chance of celebrating his United debut in front of a home crowd.
